What this tracks
The elevators and escalators that support walking in Lisbon’s hilly public spaces — each one’s location, parish, postcode, contact, and operating hours.
Why it matters to you
Lisbon’s hills are the reason this dataset exists. If you have limited mobility, push a stroller, or carry heavy loads, the localizacao field (e.g. “Largo do Chão do Loureiro; Calçada do Marquês de Tancos”) tells you exactly where the infrastructure is, and freguesia tells you which parish covers it. horario shows when it runs — an elevator that closes at night may force a long detour.
How to read this data
localizacao — the public space where the lift/escalator sits (e.g. “Largo do Chão do Loureiro”). \nfreguesia — Lisbon’s parish (e.g. “Santa Maria Maior”, “Areeiro”). \ncP7 — the 7-digit postcode (e.g. “1100-340”) for precise navigation. \ncontacto — who to call if it’s out of service (e.g. “351 252 637 619”). \nhorario — operating hours (blank in the sample — check the source for updates).

Open the lifts and escalators in EMEL’s data portal and search your parish (freguesia). Knowing where the nearest public elevator is — before you need it — is exactly the kind of civic data that makes the city usable.
